TASL Interns- Crystal Fletcher

Crystal Fletcher attends the University of Michigan and is an English Language Literature major. Fletcher is a student manager of the University of Michigan Women’s Soccer team, and also works at the Sweetland Center for Writing as a Peer Writing Consultant at the University of Michigan. Fletcher has always loved sports and helping young women succeed, and found out about The Academy for Sport Leadership through one of her coworkers. From there she reached out to Meg Seng for an internship opportunity.

During her internship with TASL in the summer of 2016, she created folders for students that included their program schedules, and also helped with the Future Coaches Camp itself. During the Camp, Fletcher mentored 10 high school student-athletes and went through daily activities with them, including CPR/First Aid Training, nutrition and diet importance, strength and conditioning exercises, coaching philosophies and ethics, and mock interviews.

Fletcher is finishing up her junior year of college and is currently studying abroad in Barcelona, Spain, where she is learning about sports and society in Catalonia. In the summer, Fletcher plans on traveling in the United States and conducting interviews from students about their transition to college for her website, fletchscholars.com. Fletcher plans on taking classes at Stanford University for two months before her senior year of college, and also wants to work more on her website. Fletcher plans to graduate from the University of Michigan in the winter of 2018.
